Fondateurs

bullet Yann Ageon, co-founder, has been managing Insight Research Europe since its creation. Before that, he was an engineer at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) from 1990 - 2008. During this time, he was first technical manager at the geochronology laboratory of Nice Sophia-Antipolis University, where he was responsible for the laser probe 40Ar/39Ar development and PhD students' training program (1990-2000). He then went on to work in the laboratory for condensed matter physics to develop mathematical models in C++ and conceive innovative software in various fields: quantitative management, financial tools for portfolio optimization, and systematic trading (2001-2008). An IT languages specialist, Yann developed two software programs for the Agence Spatiale Européenne: one is embarked in a satellite and the other one is used as a tool to predict collapse pressures in space rocket fuel tanks. In addition, he created a seismic alert system for the Principality of Monaco, which is still in use today. For 10 years, he has taught the concepts of Object Oriented Programming; the use of neurons networks; and genetic algorithms in artificial intelligence.

bullet Didier Darcet, co-founder, is currently a partner at Lincoln Vale LLP in London and co-managing director of global portfolios management. He was Head of Capital Markets at the Bank of America in Paris in the 1990's. A few years later he became Head of Iinterest and Eexchange Rrates Arbitrage and Pproprietary at Bank of America London.. In 1999, he co-founded Insight Research LLC, a US-based company specialized in research and development of mathematical models applied to the financial market, and Insight Finance - an alternative asset management company Before joining Lincoln Vale, he was Cco-Ddirector of Gglobal Mmandates at Renaissance Asset Management in London. Didier Darcet is a speaker at the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the Banque Africaine de Développement (AfDB). He is the co-author of The Economics of Sovereign Wealth Funds, a book about sovereign funds published by the IMF in 2010. Didier Darcet has a double background as a nuclear physics engineer (Supélec) as well as an economist (Sciences Po Paris).

bullet Didier Sornette (www.er.ethz.ch/people/sornette) co-founder, is currently Professor on the Chair of Eentrepreneurial Rrisks at l'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Zurich. Before that, he embraced a dual career as a research director (1981-2006) at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in the laboratory of condensed matter physics at the Nice Sophia-Antipolis University, and as a professor in geophysics (1999-2006) at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). Didier Sornette wrote more than 500 research papers published in international periodicals with reading commitees and 7 scientific books. His research focuses essentially on issues about crisis and extreme events' prediction in complex systems (speculative bubbles, financial crashes, catastrophic events, raw material shortage, epileptic seizures...). Internationally reknown, he didn't hesitate to put forward his scientific integrity, by creating in 2008 an observatory of financial crisis in order to explore the hypothesis that speculative bubbles can be diagnosed in real time and that their end can be predicted using probabilistic models.

Business Development

bullet Kevin Ageon, a recent graduate from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises in Nice Sophia-Antipolis; Kevin Ageon joined Insight Research Europe in May 2012 to initiate its business development activities. His dual training in mathematical sciences (Bachelor's in mathematics applied to social sciences) and in finance (Master II in financial engineering) reinforces the research and development activities of the company with the goal of meeting customers' needs.
