History

Insight Research Europe was created in 1999 as the result of a project combining fundamental research in market finance, applied research and IT development, and financial market practices by 3 founders: - fundamental research in market finance by Didier Sornette, then Professor of geophysics at UCLA and Director of Rresearch at CNRS - applied research and IT development by Yann Ageon, engineer at the CNRS and manager of the geochronology laboratory of Nice Sophia-Antipolis University - financial market practices by Didier Darcet, then head of interest rate and FX arbitrage, and bond investments proprietary trading at Bank of America in London.

The company was founded in the US -- home of fundamental research activity -- with the goal of developing new-generation tools for risk management and portfolio optimization geared towards international investors and covering all types of assets: shares, bonds, commodities, currencies, index funds, and alternative funds.

Insight Research created a quantitative management platform TrackValue© for funds of hedge funds, funds of funds (FOF), and investment banks.

In 2008, the company was transferred to France under Yann Ageon's management and renamed Insight Research Europe; Didier Sornette moved back to Europe from the US, and became Professor on the Chair of Entrepreurial Risks at the ETH in Zurich, while Didier Darcet took a global mandates co-management position at Renaissance Asset Management and then moved to Lincoln Vale in London as partrner.

The company is developing its TrackValue© platform to meet the needs of private funds and sovereign funds.
